Here are a few more tips to consider while you're shopping for the right fan(s). The size of the room determines the span of the blade you should be looking for. You'll find blade spans that range between 29\" to 56\". The smallest blade span will work for a room that is no bigger than 50 square feet while a 36\" blade span will service an area of approximately 70' to 80' square feet. Larger rooms, such as 100 square feet need at least a 42\" blade span and a room that is larger than 100 square feet should have a fan with the longest blade span you can find.
Another popular design is the sports fans. These are not just good for kids but any sports fan. You can find fans with different sports on them like baseball or football. Baseball fans have bat looking blades and a glove for the cover of the motor and some come with a baseball light cover. Craftmade has a soccer fan that has a soccer ball light fixture. There are also fans with colorful blades. You can find them in light colored blades or dark colored blades with white frames. A carousel fan would be perfect for any little girl's room. This fan features a carousel center with circling spot lights and a 52\" blade span. Another good design for girls is the Annabell by the Hunter Ceiling Fan Company. The Annabell features pink and white 44\" blades and has a pink and white light fixture. When it comes to installing a fan in a child's room the most important thing to think about is safety. You should make sure the ceiling fans are very secure and protected against things that may be thrown at it. You should check for and remove any and all pointed parts that could be cause for concern. Also for additional safety for your child, most fans should be operated on low speed.
